Chicken/Cottage Cheese Sandwich Spread @ DELFLYN'S KITCHEN

Hi everyone! Whether you are a meat lover or a veggie enthusiast, enjoy double the delight with this delicious duo of spreads. This chicken spread is made with tender chicken breast, flavored with spices and herbs. For our vegetarian friends, simply replace the chicken with crumbled cottage cheese and follow the same recipe.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 portion of boiled chicken breast/1 cup of fresh cottage cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp oregano (pizza oregano spice mix)
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh thyme 
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (adjust per spice tolerance)
  • ½ cup grated cheese
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Method: 

Boil the chicken breast until its cooked, then slice or shred into small pieces.

In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, garlic powder, oregano, chilly flakes, thyme and cheese.

Add mayonnaise to the bowl and mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Season with salt and pepper.

Your delicious chicken/cottage cheese sandwich spread is ready.

The sandwich spread can be stored in a glass container and kept in the fridge for up to one week.

Tips:

As an alternative to mayonnaise, replace it with beaten creamy curds ( yogurt )for a lighter and fresher flavor in your spread . Please note that it's best to prepare the spread fresh as curd- based spreads may not keep well in the fridge.

Try different types of cheese such as cheddar, mozzarella or feta for a unique flavor.

For vegetarians, add some sliced onions, bell peppers or herbs like  rosemary for extra flavor and texture.

Adjust the quantity of chilly flakes to suit your desired level of spice.

Both spreads are easy to make and will leave you craving more. Perfect for sandwiches, wraps, crackers or veggies. The possibilities are endless!
